The Saudi Space Agency hosted a two-day "Astronomy Night" at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Al-Uyaynah. The event aimed to enhance awareness of astronomy and explore the beauty of the universe, as part of the agency's efforts to support innovation and scientific advancement in the fields of astronomy and space.

The event was attended and participated in by His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Saudi Space

The event featured a variety of activities, all aimed at providing a comprehensive and unique experience for visitors. One of the highlights was "The Storyteller," who delivered an insightful presentation on astronomy, covering its development through the ages and its key achievements, offering visitors a thorough overview of the science. Additionally, the evening included an exhibition titled "The Cosmic Corridor," which provided an engaging visual journey through four major eras of "Astronomy Night" development, from the Golden Age of Islam to the future, showcasing innovations that have contributed to our understanding of the universe.

Furthermore, the event featured an "Astronomy Night" observation area equipped with specialized tools such as telescopes and astrolabes, giving visitors the opportunity to experience stargazing firsthand and view celestial bodies up close, including the Moon, planets, and stars.

The "Sky Tales" station took visitors on a cultural journey, highlighting Arab stories associated with the stars, such as the tales of "Suhail and Al-Jadi" and the significance of "Al-Thuraya." The experience included an interactive activity where visitors could write messages reflecting their future aspirations next to a glowing model of the Moon. In addition, a designated seating area was provided, offering visitors a chance to relax and enjoy stargazing in an inspiring and tranquil atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It is worth noting that this event is part of a series of activities regularly organized by the Saudi Space Agency to foster interest in astronomy and space sciences, contributing to reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a leader in space science and supporting the achievement of the ambitious goals outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
